Methodology
Forward Deployed Engineer — the model we'll apply.
Aspirational, not historical. Model formalized to activate from Q3 2026. This page describes how we'll work when it's time.
What is FDE?
Forward Deployed Engineer is a pattern popularized by Palantir and adopted by OpenAI, Anthropic, Datadog and others to sell not packaged software but embedded technical capability: a senior engineer works with the client team, writes code in the client's repo, operates the client's system.
If what we deliver is an 80-page PDF, we delivered nothing. If what we deliver is code in production with tests and observability, we delivered something.
How we'll apply it
- Engagement minimum 3 months, focused on one critical domain.
- Embedded in the client's repo — no separate fork.
- Auditable — all code goes through the client's standard code review.
- Knowledge transferred — when the engagement closes, the client team operates what's been built. No lock-in.
It isn't
- Body shop or staff augmentation with junior pricing-by-the-hour.
- Consulting with a Word deliverable.
- "Digital strategy" — that's done by others.
